On September 8th 2018, the first ever Women of Color FashTech Brunch brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, gatekeepers and trailblazers in the FashTech world. The brunch featured a panel of industry veterans.
We set out to create a special networking event for women of color in the fashion tech industry but had no idea just how inspiring the particular group of women would be. Each and attendee contributed to the overall success of the event and shared laughter, tears, contacts, hugs and connections. Our guest list grew from 30 executives from the top retail and tech brands around the globe to over 250 women of color in the fashion tech and media spaces.
Our speakers included:
Kim Jenkins – Fashion and Culture Scholar, Lecturer, Independent Researcher and Consultant
-
Lisa Morales-Hellebo – Co-Founder of the Worldwide Supply Chain Federation and Founder of Refashiond
-
Gina Bibby – Partner at Brutzkus Gubner and Fashion Tech Attorney
-
Hellyn Teng – Co-Founder and Creative Director of Wearable Media
Because of our past great sponsors, Amazon, On-point manufacturing, Brutkus & Gubner Law Firm, Beats by Dre, Moet and Hennessy, Trib.org, Unicode50, G Star-RAW, and Black Girls Code we were able to make our day special and memorable for our guests.
